Email section
Anti Spam & Virus
Currently Available to H-Sphere users only!

Note: In the event of spam, viruses and/or illegal emails like threats, you should attach & forward the entire email to your ISP rep or Spam@OnlineHelper.info . But especially in the case of viruses, let the ISP rep know before hand what you are sending and why. You don't want your ISP rep open and spread a virus or to feel that you are spamming him or her.

Creating Mailboxes

To create mailboxes in addition to webmaster and postmaster mailboxes obligatory created on each maildomain:

1. Click "New E-mail" on the maildomain Controls page:



2. On the configuration page, that you will be taken to, enter the mailbox name in the "Email address" field.
3. Check the "Catch All" box to collect email messages sent to a nonexistent account on the mail domain.
   * If catch all isn't enabled on any mail resource running on the mailbox's mail domain, such email message will bounce back to the sender with an error notification.
4. Check the box next to MAILBOX.
5. Configure the mailbox:



 

bullet Password: see below.
bullet Confirm password: re-enter the password.
bullet Comment: enter description to help identify the mailbox.
bullet Discard All Incoming Mail: see below.
bullet AntiSpam: see below.
bullet Use mail domain antispam preferences: check the box to use antispam preferences configured for the maildomain.
bullet AntiVirus: see below.

6. Click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the form.
7. Agree with the charges, if any.

 

 

Removing Mailboxes

 

bullet To remove a mailbox preserving other services running on it's e-mail address:
1. Click the mailbox e-mail address in the "E-mail" list on the maildomain Controls page:

2. Uncheck the MAILBOX box.
3. Click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the form.

 
bullet To remove a mailbox along with all mail services running on its e-mail address, click the "Trash" icon in the mailbox "Properites" entry on the Mail Controls page:

Notes:
   * Postmaster mailbox can't be deleted.
   * To delete a Catch All mailbox, first switch Catch All OFF
.

 

 

Mailbox Storage Quota

Mailbox quota defines how many MB you can store in your mailbox. You can't store more MB in your mailbox than allowed by the mailbox quota. It is not included into the site disk space quota. If your hosting plan allows you can increase initial free mailbox quota:

1. On the maildomain Controls page click the "of X MB" link in the mailbox "Properites" entry:



2. Enter new quota size in megabytes and click the "Submit" button.

From that moment on you will be charged for the difference between this new amount and the free amount your hosting plan grants. This charge will be added to the recurrent fee at the beginning of each billing period.

Notes:
   * You can't change quota for postmaster mailbox.

 

Mailbox Password

Mailbox password is an alphanumeric combination that authenticates logging into the mailbox. It is required when you are logging into the mailbox outside your control panel or when you configure an external mail client to access your mailbox.

To change mailbox password:

1. Click the mailbox e-mail address in the "E-mail" list on the maildomain Controls page.
2. In the "MAILBOX" section enter a new password in the "Password" and "Confirm password" fields.
3. Click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the form.

 

Discarding All Incoming Mail

If you don't need ALL your incoming mail, you can configure your mailbox to discard all incoming mail:
* with the "Discard All incoming mail" option enabled, senders of the incoming emails won't receive 'undelivered mail' notices

1. Click the mailbox e-mail address in the "E-mail" list on the maildomain Controls page.
2. In the "MAILBOX" section check the "Discard All Incoming Mail" box.
3. Click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the form.

 

AntiSpam

AntiSpam allows to trace, filter out and delete spam messages comming to your mailbox.
When you enable antispam for a mailbox you can use antispam preferences configured for a mail domain or configure it individually for a specific mailbox.

 

To enable antispam for a mailbox:

1. Click the mailbox e-mail address in the "E-mail" list on the maildomain Controls page.
2. In the "MAILBOX" section check the "AntiSpam" box.
* To use mail domain antispam preferences, check the "Use mail domain antispam preferences" box in the same entry. Otherwise you'll have to configure it on an individual basis.
3. Click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the form.

 

To configure antispam individually for a specific mailbox:

1. Turn on spam protection for the mailbox.
2. Click the "Antispam" icon in the mailbox "Resources included" entry:


 
3. On the "Antispam prefrences" page you will be taken to:
 

bullet choose spam check level that determines how aggressively spam is interpreted. The antispam filters analyze each email message as it passes through the gateway email server and score it between 1 and 14. The larger the number the more likely it is considered to be spam. There are six levels to choose from:
bullet Very Aggressive: rejects messages that score over 3.
* guarantees almost anything delivered to your mailbox will be legitimate. However you will lose a lot of email.
bullet Aggressive: rejects messages that score over 5.
* guarantees anything delivered to you will be legitimate. Still a fair chance of false positives.
bullet Antispam system default value rejects messages that score over 6.
bullet Normal: rejects messages that score over 7.
* might block messages mailing lists messages.
bullet Relaxed: rejects messages that score over 12.
accepts semi-legitimate bulk mail.
bullet Permissive: rejects messages that score over 12.
* accepts almost everything
bullet enter e-mail addresses to accept (the "White list" field) and reject (the "White list" field) mail from regardless of whether antispam at the activated spam check level interprets it as spam or not
Notes:
   * you can use masks using '*' and '?'. For example: *@domain.com, ?abc@domain.com, *.domain.com
   * e-mail addresses or masks should be separated by ',' or ';' or 'ENTER' or 'TAB' or 'SPACE'
.

4. Click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the form.

 

 

 

To configure antispam for a maildomain:

1. Click the "AntiSpam preferences" icon in the "Mail Service" section on the maildomain Controls page:



2. On the page you will be taken to, configure "Antispam prefrences" the same way you configure antispam for a mailbox.
3. Click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the form.

 

AntiVirus

AntiVirus checks incomming mail for viruses and if detects any, sends e-mail notification about it and deletes the virus mail.
To turn on AntiVirus for a specific mailbox:
1. Click the mailbox e-mail address in the "E-mail" list on the maildomain Controls page.
2. In the "MAILBOX" section check the "AntiVirus" box.
3. Click the "Submit" button at the bottom of the form.

 

Signing in a Mailbox

To send and receive mail from your mailbox you should sign in. This can be done from your control panel by clicking the "Launch Webmail" icon in the mailbox's "Properties" entry:



Provided you signed up for a Unix/Linux plan, you can also sign in your mailbox from outside your control panel by entering http://YOUR_WEB_SERVER_IP in your browsers Address field and clicking the IMP-mail client link on the page you are taken to.
